The Berlina arrives!

Finally my Berlina got home. My wife automatically named it Rusty, but I know she'll rename her again after she gets done.

Deconstruction begins. I'm so happy with the metal condition. Other than the usual places; floor pans, trunk floor, door bottoms and fender bottoms the metal is really good and strong still. Major surface rust that easily came off with a silicon carbide stripping disc using my 4.5" grinder. Depending on the damage I find I'm going to media blast or dip the body. I can mechanically strip the outer body but I'm concern with the surface rust in those areas a grinder cannot reach.

Well; time to remove the dashboard;

Being careful to not damage the wiring cause I'm going to have to rebuild it later. Mechanical is easy for me, the metal work I can do, but the electrical scares me....well I'm going to have to step up my game.

So much dust!!!

Dashboard off. Just emailed justdashes.com for a restoration quote.

Transmission check

Got the transmission to my garage. Need to clean it up really good. The gears feel really tight and correct. There is very small play on the shaft, which I'm told by my friends al ALFABB it's normal wear. I'm sure it will have to be rebuilt in the future but for now is going to stay that way.

Taking inventory

Trying to gather and inventory up all parts;

The Berlina

I just purchased a 1974 Alfa Romeo Berlina that needs everything....EVERYTHING!  I always wanted this car...I've been looking for a long time but the prices have gone up like crazy...these cars are worth all the money they're getting but they're just way out of my range.  So I bought the one that looks from far like the worst of them all....needs everything but I'm going to do everything!

This is it...
